How Much Does Botox Cost?

The average fee for a Botox treatment in the United States is about $400. The cost is kept under control as no anesthesia is needed and the procedure is usually conducted in a plastic surgeon or even a dermatologists office.

Certain areas of the face may require additional injections which can increase the cost to between $500 and $900. This is especially common in the eye area to treat crow’s feet Larger areas of the face, such as the forehead, might cost as much as #1,300. Botox cost can vary and since treatment must be repeated on about a quarterly basis, they should be considered as a yearly cost if you are comparing them to plastic surgery or other similar treatments. Generally physicians use the same Botox from the same supplier so costs may differ because of the counseling you receive and even the general spa type appeal of may offices.

Deodorant History and Usage Tips

Times have changed quite a bit and now deodorant has become necessary for most of us. We use it daily and enjoy the advantages that it offers. When it comes to these products, it really helps to be properly informed so that you are capable of making the right usage and buying decision. Keep in mind that a deodorant is very different from an antiperspirant. Although they’re so different, many brands choose to manufacture products that combine the two. The main purpose that these products have is to stop or mask body odor.

Sweat is also greatly reduced with the help of deodorants. Although they use it daily, there are quite few people that know its history. The deodorant, as it is known today, was created in 1941 by an individual named Jules Montenier. During those times, this product was sold under a different name, “Stopette”. Later, as the patent worn off, it was sold under various other brands. Another fact that is very little known today is that it was quite irritating for the skin in its initial stage. This aspect would change with the passage of years however.

As previously stated, the main use of the deodorant is to mask or stop body odor caused by sweat. Unlike in the case of antiperspirants, deodorants are classified as cosmetic tools by the FDA and not as drugs. The reason why it’s considered a cosmetic tool is because when applied on an area it prevents bacteria growing instead of preventing it. This means that the body is free to do what it naturally does and sweat, however bacteria is instantly killed. Deodorant mainly helps by balancing the pH level, thus creating an inhospitable environment for bacteria.

The main deodorant ingredients are normally perfume, alcohol and triclosan, although triclosan is not used that often. A good number of deodorant types also throw in antiperspirant it their composition. The main ingredients of antiperspirants include different well-known chemical compounds, such as Zirconium, Tetrachlorohydrex and Aluminum. Keep in mind that the composition of these products can greatly vary from brand to brand and you should keep a close eye on the ingredients for more obscure deodorants.

Deodorants also come in many different types, such as gel, solid, roll on and spray (spray being the most common one). An interesting fact is that the types that are mainly sold and used greatly vary between Europe and the United States. In the states the most popular deodorant types are solid and gel, while in Europe roll on and spray are much more common. It’s good to know, however, that you can get any type no matter of the location.

When it comes to misconceptions, deodorants have had quite a share of these through the years. One of the most well-known ones was spread in the 1990′s and it was about antiperspirants causing breast cancer amongst other things (remember that antiperspirant is commonly found in the composition of deodorants). Later, all of these misconceptions would prove to be inaccurate and false by scientists. One of the most important studies that were conducted was by Europe Journal in 2003.

When it comes to applying deodorant properly, there are a few rules that you should always keep in mind. These are very simple however and many people already know them. The process normally goes like this: you pull of the cap, lift the arm and apply it on the underarm region. The steps vary from deodorant type to type, but they’re very closely related. If you’re noticing any skin discomfort after applying deodorant seek the help of a professional dermatologist immediately!

Grinding Your Teeth – Warning Signs

Have you ever checked out your smile in the mirror to find that it looks odd in terms of shape? Believe it or not, the edges of your teeth can actually wear down from continual grinding and clenching. Although teeth are durable, they will succumb to wear if excessive and/or sustained pressure is applied to them. Many people unknowingly suffer from a condition known as bruxism. This occurs when you grind or clench your teeth in the middle of the night, and thus is categorized as a sleeping disorder. Those who have bruxism are often easy to identify, since the contours of their teeth have since abraded due to the condition. Treatment can be complicated depending on the severity of the condition. In terms of aesthetics, the teeth can be restored using dental veneers. Lumineers cost a significant amount of money, so this is a point to consider. Some enamel will be removed from the teeth and then a porcelain veneer will be glued to the teeth. The final result is an impeccable smile that is white, durable, and life-like. You can achieve similar results that are non-permanent using snap on smile.

The bottom line, however, is that dental veneers are not a permanent solution. They will also succumb to being grinded down due to bruxism. This is why the patient should take heed to their dentist’s advice to wear a mouth guard. This will keep the teeth from coming into contact during the night as to further aggravate the fallout of the condition. Visit your dentist today if you suspect you have something resembling bruxism. The quicker you act, the more preventative measures can be taken to ease your symptoms. Some other tell tale signs of bruxism include jaw pain as well. You can get a detailed list online. Remember that the excessive stress being placed on your teeth can also cause restorations like fillings or crowns to fail as well, so unless you want an expensive dental bill get to addressing the problem.

Create Your Own Lice-Killing Shampoo

Some individuals swear by a “home-made” shampoo to get rid of lice. The shampoo is made of various natural ingredients including essential oils and liquid dish detergent.

Ingredients

Salt. This is used because it’s a natural antiseptic. It helps to kill the live lice.

Vinegar. The purpose of the vinegar is to loosen the cement which bonds the nits on the hair. This makes them easier to comb out.

Tea Tree Oil. A natural antiseptic and insecticide.

Peppermint Oil. This ingredient is included for its ability to kill the live lice. But more than that, it also repels them when you use it in your usual shampoo following the infestation.

Liquid Dish Detergent. You’re including this because of its natural grease-fighting action. The detergent will make it all that much harder for the lice to cling to your hair. And that means when the time comes, they’ll be easier to comb out.

Make your shampoo using the ingredients. When using the essential oils (peppermint and tea tree) don’t use any more than 10 drops of each. These are absorbed quickly and efficiently into the skin.

The base of your shampoo is really the dish detergent, so don’t dilute it excessively. You want this shampoo to lather nicely — and the detergent will do just that.

Wash your hair with this shampoo, making very sure that you don’t get it into your eyes. You also, of course, don’t want anyone to actually ingest this mixture either.

Once you’ve washed your hair and rinse out the shampoo, comb your hair using a nit comb. Comb your hair with this nit comb at least daily. It would be better if you’d do it two to three times a day. And you’ll have to keep this routine up for seven to 10 days.

Continue this thorough combing for seven to 10 days. During this time you’re looking for evidence of lice. If you still find live lice after this period, wash your hair again with the shampoo, using the same protocol as before.

In any case, you’ll want to use this shampoo for approximately two weeks, applying it at least every two days. Leave it on for about five minutes to ensure the ingredient get a chance to work.

Slowing Down Skin Aging

Do you think that your skin is going to begin to lose its youthful beauty as you age? You’re absolutely correct because that’s inevitable. With that being said you can slow this process down with some proper knowledge and practices. One of the most recent trends in the world of skin care has been the shift from using make up to cover acne, blemishes and the like to the use of products that emphasize the maintenance and repair of skin. It goes without saying that everyone knows that the best ingredient for keeping your skin healthy and youthful is by getting enough sleep and eating healthily but this doesn’t work the same for everyone. Studies have shown that one of the best ways to slow down the aging process comes from a combination of healthy diet, exercise and vitamin E. A well known expert on the subject named Dr. Oz has often recommended soemthing called the Resveratrol food supplement. It’s most well noted effects are that it helps control wrinkles/age marks, provides energy and has antioxidants that will supposedly help protect users from circulatory disease, cancer and diabetes. Ironically enough it’s a supplement not a skin moisturizer!

Getting the Best out of Your Designer Skin Lotion

Before you go out and make a designer skin lotion decision, you should read up on them and find out what other people think of them. It is always a good idea to read what real users have to say about a product since they should be providing the most honest answer. Of course they are not going to be able to give you any information regarding the ingredients per se, their opinions are going to be relative to using the actual product.

Once you have done your research and have narrowed it down, you can go ahead and make your purchase at either a store or online. These products are pricier than the grocery store type brands, but most feel that they work better than the cheaper ones. An important step to using your lotion to its best potential is to exfoliate the skin first. This is the process of getting rid of the dead skin cells from the skin’s surface so that your lotion can perform to the best of its ability.

Bleaching Dark Circles?!

In dealing with dark circles under the eyes, many people who suffer from this problem resort to different means. These dark circles under eyes treatments vary greatly in range. While others would merely place a couple of slices of cucumber on their eyes for several minutes to an hour, others would actually go through laser surgery to get rid of this problem. Other means are applying some cream or serum on them and yet another is simply using some cream or liquid makeup to cover them up, such as liquid foundation or concealer. And yet another way that others deal with dark circles is bleaching them. This treatment of course is very harsh compared to the very seemingly harmless cucumber. Also, the skin under the eyes is very thin and could get irritated easily, so maybe before you decide to resort to using bleach under your eyes, consider all the other alternatives and options that might not do as much damage to the skin under your eyes.
