We were from a local television agency working to audition individuals for work in the voice casting industry. I was one of the managers so it was my job to set up a venue where the auditions would be held, as well as advertise about the auditions so we could get plenty of variety into the audition so we would have more to choose from. What a lot of kids may find to be a good career is in the field of voiceovers. It can be a really easy job that pays a good amount of money. You could ask somebody like Bob Saget, who does voiceovers on the show, How I Met Your Mother. He makes a whole lot of money to just talk into a microphone. There is very little acting, but there is a element of acting that you may need to have in order to be really successful. I do not understand why people do not think about this field when deciding on a career. It can be a really great job with good pay.

It is good to try to be an actor. We are all real actors in our lives but acting can be a little impressive if you plan to be one. Only acting in a show requires a lot of practice and of course skill. You have to have a personality and looks, plus your voice should be unique. If you have these qualities, it will fit you nicely in acting.

To receive calls for an audition you have to approach nicely and you have to know someone from the acting industry. It is easier to get a call if you have a friend from the show biz. Try to be formal on the first presentation. Prepare for your interview well in advance. Without a practice you are likely to panic in an actual interview.Try to be as realistic as possible while facing your first call. Be calm while answering questions.

If you get selected for your first show don’t get excited immediately. You need a lot of practice when you have to present yourself in front of lot of people. Standing in an audotirium/hall and performing without flaw requires patience and calmness. The more confident you are (not over confident) the better is your performance.
